Byggvarubedömningen's assessments are based on the product's chemical content as well as several life cycle criteria. These criteria are developed by a criteria group comprising expert representatives from our member companies. When necessary, we also seek assistance from external experts.
The assessment concerning chemical content includes a total of 29 sub-criteria, primarily based on the classification limits of the constituent substances according to the chemical legislation REACH and the CLP Regulation. It is the individual properties of the substances that are assessed, not potential classification in mixtures.
Assessment of life cycle aspects considers the entire lifespan of the product, divided into production, usage, and waste phases. Currently, 6 main areas have been selected to represent these phases.
