Clarification regarding reporting of products containing batteries
Due to feedback from the industry, we have decided to remove the requirement to include batteries in the reporting. From now on, products containing batteries should be reported excluding the battery, as batteries are considered consumables and not a permanent part of the product. This applies to batteries that are not permanently integrated into the product, such as through welding.
If you, as a supplier, have previously reported including the battery, we ask you to submit a re-assessment application where the product's substance content is reported excluding the battery. Please ensure that it is clearly stated in the documentation that the evaluation pertains to the product without the battery.
We hope this clarification makes the process both simpler and clearer for all our suppliers.
